A Cracking night at Diss Corn Hall

We had a cracking night in Diss Corn Hall at the weekend. It’s a wonderful venue and it’s great to see it returned to it’s former glory. Thanks to all you dancers out there for making it such a special evening!

The recording sessions have gone really well and the CD is nearly finished. We’ll make it available from this web site as well as from live events. In the meantime, as a sneak preview, you can hear rough mixes of some of the songs on our MySpace page.

The joint was really jumpin'

The joint was really jumpin'
The Corn Hall dance floor was packed all night last Saturday as the audience - a mixture of jive aficionados dressed and coifed for the part and others - found the 40s and 50s classics played by Norfolk's premier jump-blues band, The King Size Papas, just too infectious to resist.

The evening started with a fun lesson from dance experts Al and Linda Howland of 'Rock the Block' and Andy 'AV8 Record Hop' Garner's fab DJ'ing was hot, hot hot!

Thanks for a great night guys and hope to see you again soon.

Sweetheart Dance Club

It’s the inaugural night for the Sweetheart Dance Club at B2 this Saturday, which we’re really looking forward to. It’s a monthly dance club with a live band and a free dance lesson with our good friends Al & Linda of Rock The Block. B2 is part of the Brickmakers pub, but is a separate venue with a great dance floor. Should be a great night!

A busy weekend

It was a busy weekend for the KSPs but a very enjoyable one! We played at the Sweetheart Dance Club, which was a tremendous success. Thanks to everyone who attended and we look forward to seeing you at future club meetings. We’ll post some photos here shortly.

The following day we did an Air Ambulance fund raising event at the Unicorn, Aylsham - another enjoyable occasion. Special thanks to our guest trumpeter, Chris Kirk, who excelled himself as usual.

Canary gig is CANCELLED

Unfortunately, due to reasons beyond our control (the pub has closed down!), our gig at the Canary on Friday 21st May has been cancelled. Pubs normally close down after we’ve played there!

So, our next public event will be at Hingham for a Jazz In The Park BBQ on May 30th @ 2.15pm.

We’ll be starting the New Year with a slightly different line-up as Lippy Sam has decided she needs to spend more time with her young family, and Kev The Horn has also decided it’s time to move on. They’ve both played with KSP for 4 years, so it’s sad to see them leave, and we wish them both well for the future.
